Are asters perrienials?

The bluish purple ones that we are seeing with autumn mum displays?

Are asters perrienials?
Hi. Yes, they are. I have the 'Monch' variety. It's blueish purple and blooming now. The plant tag says it's hardy in zones 5 to 9.

I've really enjoyed this little plant. It's been pretty easy to grow.

For more info here's a link to Better Homes and Garden's plantfinder. It should take you straight to "Aster."

Reply:Yes. In any reasonable climate they will not be killed by winter and will flower every year - that's a perennial.
