How expensive are perennials usually?

I am talking about the stuff like : candt tuft, astilbe, bugbane, goats beard, coreopsis, st. johns wort, sweet alyssum, achillia, aster, yarrow, black eyed susan, sage, phlox, etc.

How are they planted mostly?

Easy to grow?

Which ones flower the most and longest?

How expensive are perennials usually?
Usually, a wide variety of perennials are planted together to create a flower garden. They're not expensive and in fact as they grow larger each year you'll be able divide and replant them multiplying the amount you have.

Some tips:

1. Prepare the soil before planting by adding some compost.

2. Plan your garden on paper first.

3. Make sure the plants are compatible with you existing environmental conditions. (sun/shade, hardiness zone)

4. Choose a variety a perennials whcih will provide your garden with color all season. (perennials bloom in early, mid or late season)

My landscape company actually specializes in perennials gardens.

Here's an article I wrote on perennials for my site http://www.gardenlistings.com
Reply:Prices range from £2 - £5 but usually you will get 3 roots in a pack of each variety.

They are all easy to plant. Dig a hole about a spade depth and width to ensure there is enough loose soil round the roots when planted, if you have clay or other poor soil you should put in a handfull of bonemeal or any compost would do. Plant root in centre of hole and backfill with loose earth and firm it round the root but not too much, you should follow planting times on packet.

Depending on your soil type they grow themselves and the rootbase increases every year so after a couple of years the plant can be split and replanted in different locations.

Perenials flower at different times and some go on longer than others, check the packet before you buy and if you do it right you will have a succession of flowers throughout the year.

A good tip is to take a walk round your area and chat to anyone you see working in their garden, they will be more than happy to tell you what will grow best, they might even give you a cutting to plant.
Reply:Perennials are not expensive at all.Buy small pots,,,they grow fast...Make sure that your soil is amended before you plant...they will grow like wildfire...For a long flowering time pick....Purple conefower,Monadra, achellia and hollyhocks..

What are these pink flowers i found in my lawn, they look just like dandelions...?

I was out in the back yard last night and noticed these pink flowers in my lawn, amungst the mounds of dandelions. Without thinking about it, I picked the only two flowers that were in bloom and ran in the house to show my husband. I thought about it and I called the local horticulturist in our area (Western NY) and he said that if they are indead pink dandelions that I have a definate anomoly (sp?) on my hands and that he would like to see the plant. I went home on lunch and the rest of the flowers are not entirely bloomed yet so i am waiting to uproot this mysterious plant...when i picked the flowers last night they had milky substance at the stem where i broke it off the plant. It cant be an Aster, since they bloom in the fall...anyone have any thoughts? The foliage itself is very similar to a dandelion....

Wow, I have never seen a pink dandelion before. Those would be much prettier than all these yellow ones. You could be one lucky lady! :)

I found this while searching this for you. This is the closest I could find to a pink dandelion.

Are there any universities in Virginia which offer 100% online asters degrees in Human Resources?

I have an MBA from AIU online. I'm looking to expand with a Masters in Human Resources but it seems online degreees aren't really benefitting me. Any info would be appreciated.

Are there any universities in Virginia which offer 100% online asters degrees in Human Resources?
IDK

I know of 1 school for sure that offers a 4 yr degree in HR

Rasmussen Business Collage. closest campus to Virginia is in KY

if you are taking classes on line, why does the school have to be in Virginia? if on line degrees aren't benefiting you, why waist time seeking another on line degree?

Y&R Question - Where Is Aster's Daughter, Jill's Son Billy Theses Days??

Don't you think they should find a guy for Aster?

Y%26amp;R Question - Where Is Aster's Daughter, Jill's Son Billy Theses Days??
Boarding school...She must have gone as an infant huhhh. It seems like she was born like 6 or 7 years ago.

Billy came home with a sad excuse of a storyline of on line gambling and ran right back out of town bareley making a ripple in the other storylines. I guess he went back to work for Chancellor or with Brock in New Orleans or overseas for Jabot, I wonder if he and Mac are communicating these days.

Speaking of off camera children.... If Paul is so worried about Heather hating him as an adult you'd think he would try and spend some time with school age Ricky huhhh. Where is Scotty and whats he up to? Keemo? Where is Jill's grandson by the no longer phillip? is he still in the will? maybe now that he is no longer a real chancellor he is forgotten, who else??? I am trying to remember...who else has kids that are at "boarding school"?
Reply:Esther's daughter is away at boarding school.....

Billy is off in another country working with Brock...

Yes Esther soes need a boyfriend! She did have one and had her baby, but he turned out to be a nutcase!!
Reply:Her daughter is at boarding school and probably will come in one day and Billy is in Asia working for Jabot.

How hard is it to get a card trooper, d-hero malicious, or destiny draw from a Aster or Jaden booster box?

is there a ratio for those ultra rare cards to?

How hard is it to get a card trooper, d-hero malicious, or destiny draw from a Aster or Jaden booster box?
The duelist packs are a law unto themselves. Some cards are more common than other cards, even if they have the same rarity.. Example, despite the fact that they're the same rarity, you're more likely to get Cyber-End Dragon rather than Cyber Dragon from Zane packs. Unless your store owner let's you weigh packs just buy the singles.
Reply:the ratio is 1 ultra per box I believe and two super rares.
Reply:Card Trooper is actually easier to find than many people would imply. The card shop owner (listed below) I found out from told me that you will almost always find either 1 Card Trooper or 1 Burial From A Different Dimension in a box of Jaden Yuki 2. This means that if you buy a box you will with 99% guarantee receive one of the above listed. I say 99% because there are instances in which a box will contain neither or one of both. These are rare circumstances and are blamed on manufacturing/packaging slip-ups. It is exactly the same for Aster's set. You are 99% guaranteed to receive a Malicious or Destiny Draw per box.

To prove this (mainly out of curiosity), I hung out at the shop's counter for an amount of time that I'm sure was too much. Every JY2 box that was opened revealed a Card Trooper or Burial card. The owner informed me that he had seen a box that provided neither, but only once. After that, I began making purchases to find Card Troopers with satisfying results :)

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the Zane set :(

I hope this helps. Good luck and have fun.
Reply:all ultra rare cards have the same rarity. It just depends on the distribution as to how many are available in your immediate area. I've been to sneak peaks in one area that had one or two ultra rares showing up more often and no copies of other ultra rares/. Then when I would talk to the judges from other sneak peeks they saw lots of copies of the ultra rares that were missing from our sneak peak.
Reply:They are almost impossible to pull. You are better off buying them in singles than buying boxes of cards to get them. The ratio is really low. (don't know the exact number)
Reply:Very Very Very difficult. As for distribution thats a load of crap

They place say 10 per 100 boxes (Its not that high) and then its just luck as to wether the store you buy them from has the lucky box (Not to likely believe me)

I believe the Trooper is worth upwards of $60 However I nearly got one for $8 but the damn kids Father made him leave. Not that I like ripping peeps off but hey it a Card Trooper idnit? Oh as for ratio you better have numerous lucky rabbits fett shoved I dont even know where to pull those babies let alone 2 or more as needed with the Malicious mainly

Hope dis helps u.....

Look up the BBC Gardening site. The English have perfected perennial gardens over hundreds of years, and most of the plants can be grown in gardens all over the world. I grow lovely perennials from all over the world in my tough garden in Australia and I love this site.
Reply:If you buy young plants from a nursery, it's utterly easy. Just dig a hole, plop in the plant, and firm the soil around it. Presto - all done!

As to varieties - some are hard, some are difficult; a good place to look for types and sizes is in a seed catalog, or by taking a trip to your local nursery.
Reply:out the plants you have listed ...I had no luck with astilbe...but my soil may not have been correct.....coreopsis will grow in any kind of soil and is easy to plant and grow...I have had luck with asters ,black eyed susan, sage and phlox...I haven't try st. Johns wort ,sweet alyssum ,or yarrow.......

I am a person with a purple thumb...not a green thumb ....so anything I plant has to be easy to grow or it isn't going to make it... ; )

the best perennial and easiest to raise that I have found is lilies(anykind)..and yucca (or adams needle)....they last a life times..and require little to no care......
Reply:Most perennials are easy to grow. I don't know what climate you are in, but Day lilies, Michalmas Daisies Red Hot Pokers,, Arum Lilies. Day lilies and Arum's have green foliage throughout the year so are great fillers. I don't know if you can grow Agapanthus in your area but they are really useful.

Asters I would treat as an annual, as I would sweet alyssum. It is easier to replant them in the following season.
Reply:You didn't say if you are planting them from seed or have started plants that are already in a pot. If you are getting them in pots, dig the hole twice as big around as the pot, but no deeper than the rootball. You want the bottom of the rootball to sit on the bottom of the hole, and you want the top of the rootball slightly elevated above the surrounding soil. Backfill with the existing dirt, no additives or peat moss or manure, just the dirt. Then mulch well with cedar or cypress or even gravel to help keep the moisture in.

Yarrow, Black Eyed Susans, Coreopsis and sage (there are a bazillion kinds of sage, from culinary to purely decorative) are easy as pie and attract butterflies. I have had zero luck with Astible but I live in a very hot, windy area and the wind just decimates it. Alyssum is pretty easy to get going... it's not a perennial where I live though.

My favorite of all is the Autumn sage (salvia greggii). It blooms from spring to frost, comes in a myriad of colors, and is very hardy in my zone 7a location. I put a link to a red one, you can get them in white, red, pink, hot pink, coral, blue, one called Hot Lips that has white blooms with red "lips", and I think I saw a yellow one somewhere but not for sure.

Are Chinese Asters a pain to keep growing?

I'm thinking of putting asters in between my two gardenia bushes in front of my house. If you have these growing, do you have to move them every year? And are they really prone to diseases? What other plants do you have them growing with?

Are Chinese Asters a pain to keep growing?
they can get floppy - and need support. But they bloom when few other things do (at least here in Detroit) so I put up with them anyway ;)
Reply:They'll do fine, you can prune them to the size you want. Leave them establish a good root system, usually three years, then you can divide them.

Where does the saying "Ally Ally Aster, snow come faster" come from?

Does anyone know? For those that have no clue what I am on about it is a saying that we have in the UK (although might be international!) that you say when it is snowing to make it snow more. I can't seem to find the origin of it and wondered if anyone could help. I assume it comes from an old folk tale sort of like Jack Frost but haven't a clue

Where does the saying "Ally Ally Aster, snow come faster" come from?
Here's some info:

Snow snow faster, ally ally aster... from:

http://www.geographypages.co.uk/snow.htm

and then this...

Ally Ally Aster

While the first Ann Halam book was on its way to publication, I moved to Singapore. I revised this story of wicked magics, an ice spirit, and the fearsome winter she conjures up, with sweat dripping from my nose and splashing on the keys of my typewriter. The ceilings in our flat were low, and if I worked under the fan where the air was cool, my papers blew all around the room

Couldn't find any origin..sorry.

YUGIOH duelist pack aster phoenix booster boxes?

if i buy a booster box pack of these cards would i be likely to gat 2 destiny hero malicious and posssibly a destiny draw?

YUGIOH duelist pack aster phoenix booster boxes?
Not really. You'll probably get at least one of the two and maybe even the other, but the chances of getting three are unlikely. Like Mac Dauwg said some booster boxes have 3 Ultras whilst others have none. It's all about luck. With 25 boosters per box you'll most probably get at least one or two of the Ultras. IF you buy two boxes then you'll most probably get all of the cards that you need. Good Luck if you decide to buy a Aster Phoenix Box.
Reply:Yes
Reply:ohh... that would take a SH*Tload of luck... 2 D-Hero Malicious and D-Draw... i was lucky to get Destiny Draw, was so happy to get that card, but yeah... wow... 2 Destiny Hero Malicous... either have to con someone into tradin that card to u... or spend a few hundred bucks in these boxes an hope that u get those cards... i would love to have 2 Malicious... but i know how rare those cards are... anyways i was glad i got 2 Damage Polarizers and Infernal Dragon from Zane Truesdales packs, just that Cyber Dragon i dint get, i got the real one from the original Cybernetic Revolution, and i had to buy the Tin Cyber Dragons, anyways 2 Destiny Hero Malicious and a Destiny Draw in one Booster pack, it is a possibility, and its also a big bet.. but hey if u do then ur very lucky, but ya those cards are great, and D-Hero Malicious is only good if u have 2 which is bogus... but ya, good luck
Reply:It's all about luck. You could buy a box and get 5 Ultra Rares or you could open a box and get none. There is a high chance that you will at least one Ultra Rare. There is no differecne in rarity between Malicious and Destinty Draw then chances of getting them are the same.

Good Luck
Reply:I bought a booster box from ebay. I got one Malicious and NO destiny draw. And a ton of crap.
Reply:its just luck

thats all i can say good luck

elizabeth
Reply:well, not really. you'd be lucky to get both of them. one of my friend opened a jaden 2 booster box for a card trooper and he got 1 ultra rare card (burial from a different dimension, the other ultra rare card. there's 2 ultra rare in a duelist pack) along with quite a lot super rares. if you look at the back of a duelist pack booster, you'll see the ratio of getting a kind of rare card. you have a 1 in 24 chance of getting an ultra rare, which is unfortunately...

What is the differnce between asters and spindle fibers?

Plants don't have aster/centrioles, but they use spindle fibers to pull the sister chromatids apart?? I don't unterstand this.

What is the differnce between asters and spindle fibers?
The spindle poles are organized by non-centriole-bearing material. The chromosomes use energy to move along the spindle towards the poles. The asters do not help the chromosomes separate, they just help the poles separate, but in plants this function of the asters is either not needed, or is done by some other complexes lacking centrioles.
