aster Cancelled This Year!
Jerusalem, April 15, 1995- -Archeologists who have been excavating
in the hills above Jerusalem announced today the discovery of
a 2000-year-old mummy bearing puncture wounds through the hands
and feet and a deep laceration in the lower left chest. Scientists
noted that there was a large accumulation of blood in the lower
body, consistent with the body having been upright at the time
of death. Carbon dating of the body and its burial shroud indicated
death had occurred 1990 +-95 years ago. The archeologists stated
that in spite of its age, the body was well preserved in the dry
air of the hidden, sealed cave.
A senior archeologist, asked if this was the body of Jesus Christ,
refused to comment, but agreed that "the evidence is not
inconsistent with that hypothesis." A younger archeologist,
who requested anonymity, said "This is the corpse of Christ.
Period. They're just going to have to cancel Easter this year."
True or not, what do you think?
I'm not sure which I find more hliarious, that Patzy calls your article, "bullshit facts" yet there isn't a damn thing to prove God exists that isn't strung together inconsitencies and things that are unexplainable, or the fact that MommaToldMeNotToCome has no ability to read the article and see when the article you posted in fact written. Fact is, no one should be calling anyone elses beliefs bullshit.
As for your question, it could be. There is no way to tell. Lots of people were crucified at that time and what happened to Jesus wasn't special. He was one of many.
And Susenjungle, the Shroud of Turin wasn't used by mary Magdelen to wipe Jesus face, it was what was laid over his body after the crucifiction and due to the oils the body secretes during the ordeal made an stain of his face and body on it. I have some good books on the subject if you are interested, let me know! I love sharing books!
Reply:I found it funny most attacked it and proved it 'false' without reading the whole thing! The copyright, i left on deliberately, should have been the dead give away. Thanks to those that were SENSIBLE! Report It
Reply:Sinthyia, I think the problem is that you're on a waaaay different level than some of these people. :) You rock! Report It
Reply:Thanks Violet! Report It
Reply:it would be good u go read my coments about does this make sence sintyia maybe u will learn something. Report It
Reply:Mary Magdalene did wipe his face before he died. Anything is possible. Books, Bibles religion have been changed over and over. What's to believe, so you might me right or wrong "furious" Yet I may be on a concept. Only God knows. Report It
Reply:She did but that is Veronicas Veil not the Shroud of Turin. The Shroud of Turin is supposedly the burial cloth not what she wiped his face with. Report It
Reply:FYI: The carbon dating figures have been proven to be invalid:

Reply:*slaps person above me* "copy right 1995" smart one
Reply:Thats not Christ. He was resurrected alive ans would return later if you read the Bible and other holy books.
Reply:crucifixtion was a common punishment at that time. though the harshest of all, it happened to more than just Jesus. even the Bible mentions 2 theives hanging on either side of Him.
Reply:uou have a great understanding of bible in my opion . you dont take the church ot of the state you take the church out of the state religion and state laws dont go together in my opion ? aswell any minister will tell every one this that has been in the ministery for any time at all ? my opion ?
Reply:interesting therie, but there were a lot of deaths like that, but it would be interesting for them to studie a body like that.
jesus is dead, and out there some were,i dont believe in the levitation of the phisical body.to heaven,???the astronauts on the space station would love to know that they were in heaven, the jews believed the earth was flat, and , they were wrong about that. shades of alien autopsy, ha ha
i would love it if it were jesus, because it , would bring truth into that religion.
Reply:Just more pseudoscience, Christ was stabbed in the side with a spear, so much for the screwy accumulated blood nonsence......... I am so glad we were able to read this illogical continuation of more JUNK science. What a waste of funds if it was actually a real study.
Reply:not true because we are not crazy
Reply:Sinthyia, once again you give the hard hitting questions
could it be the body of Jesus, I hope so that way this could be finaly put to rest. but their were a lot of people that were killed like that at that time. but how many were buried in a sealed cave? its close but unless they find his name on the tomb I dont see how they can prove it for sure
Reply:First, the shroud of Turin was proven fake, second, it's not possible for a man to be suspended from the hands, had to be the wrists.
Reply:Two others were crucified with Jesus THAT day. What is interesting is not the information that was provided, but the information that was NOT provided... How old was this person? Was he even a Jew? Were his legs broken? Jesus was so badly beaten before he was crucified that the woulds would have been FAR GREATER than just the puncture wounds and the deep laceration in the lower left chest. There is absolutely no reason to believe this to be the body of Christ based on what you have posted.
There is much evidence that people saw Him alive after the fact.
Reply:I have my doubts.
First of all I find i find it odd that Jesus would be a mummy. I don't Palestine practiced mumifactaion.
Secondly, why would the Catholic CHurch and Regan bot bit time supporters of Jesus be upset by this discovery. This actaully is soemthing they would have wanted to find.
I am also skeprical because no sources of the article were provided.
Reply:Does the name "Mark Hoffman" ring a bell?
Reply:I do not believe there is anything to it, just because this was in 1995 and here in 2006, I have not heard anything about this in any of my Biblical Criticism classes, which are not shy about presenting potentially damning evidence against the Bible.
Anyhow, I know that it would not matter anyhow. Let us say we could prove 100% that it was the body of Jesus. Would this make Christians give up their belief in the resurrection? Absolutely not! They would instead subtly change the doctrine so that it was only Jesus' spirit that rose, or something like that. So you see, all this talk about, "If there is no empty tomb your faith is dead" is really nonsense. I know too well that even a non-empty tomb will not shake the faith of most Christians.
I do not mean this as a compliment by the way, just to clarify. ;) If a theory is not falsifiable, then it is really worthless. It is not verifiable.
Reply:yes its true Jesus was a man and human just like anyone else in this world the fact that he was found in a hidden cave would support the fact that it cannot be one of the other 1000's 100.000 100,000.000 People crucified around at the same time, Sinthyia good Question and love ya 'winks'
runs up and slaps the people that didn't read the whole thing where its says
Copyright 1995 damn fools
Reply:Oh, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that WAS actually found. As for it being jesus....not likely. Possible, but not likely. Thousands of others were also Crucified around the same time period, and such would be consistent with any of them as well.
Reply:I believe that it could be Christ. The shroud was imprinted when Mary Magdalene wiped Jesus's face whilst he was still alive before he was hung on the cross. The actual resurrection was of his spirit form not his physical body. As for the ones who had said they went into the cave and saw no body, they may have went to the wrong tomb/cave.
Reply:sinthyia thanks for the evidence ur giving today . this just proves that this did happen as we have known for very long we appreciate that. perhaps this would shut some ignorants that say the history of Christ never happen now ur give us the evidence that this did happen to someone thanks. about he young archaeologist perhaps he didn't gave his name because he knows how stupid that sounds. u can't honestly believe anyone would know who was the person who they found . that is just like saying the shroud of Turin is the real one.
u made another question about a video game but u didn't read either what ur link says in the bottom .i asked u to ask that again because the answers which people gave were lame and u didn't even read it right. let me explain that link says that this game was made as a protest because they tought the passion of the christ was just too much full of blood which i complitedly agree whit . so if they didn't care about the blood in the movie they shouldn't have any problem whit the video game .that was their point and not what u said.
so here u have the answer to two of ur questions thanx.
for those who don't know what im talking about go to the question of sinthyia in which she ask "does this make sence to u?" and read the coments.
Reply:in my religion Jesus had not killed or crucified. GOD rise him up.
Reply:I still believe the Bible. He Arose (and took his body with him) how else did he tell doubting Thomas to put his hands in his scared hands...Jesus took his body with him.
Reply:It's a hoax.
Reply:Since Jesus is alive and sitting at the right hand of the Father, there is no way that it could be Him. And the above answer is right. The Romans crucified thousands of people at that time. It could be any one of them. It is ridiculous to think that it is Jesus. I wonder if anyone did the research to find out just how many people were killed in this same way. 1000, 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000? We would have to get a head count to know the actual odds of this NOT being Him.
Reply:no.
Reply:This is a hoax because Jesus, the historical figure is as real as Osiris or Dionysus. But IF this were real I doubt whether any one of the Christian Churches would allow this news to be made public too much money and political power would be on the line.
Reply:I think it’s just a new plot to shake the Christian faith. Would anyone still read the bible if they believe it has wrong information?! They do not have any proof supporting their claim that it’s Jesus Christ’s body, and the crucifixion marks that’s just not good enough!
Reply:I think it is possible but what I don't think is possible is former president Ronald Reagan commenting on this....he died in like 2004 and he wasn't able to comment on much for several years before he died with any wits about him.....so I am going to have to say no
Reply:Do i believe a body may have been found well sure. Crusifixion was the way things were done. Do i believe that this is jesus NO WAY. This is just another attempt by saten to try to confuse the begining believers and new converts. Any one surching for the truth he is out there trying to destroy whom he may. It's the devil work, his time is running out quickly and hee must try to decieve all who will allow him to . Blind the ones who won't truely surch as wellthe ones who believe every thing they hear in the news. Always rember to search out why this person says what they say whats the hidden agenda behind this person or people. This story or discovery could have been made by some one who doesn't believe in Jesus Christ or The Father GOD at all and has no planes to ever so if he can put dought in your mind he's winning you over to the other side. If your not for GOD your against him there is no in between.
Reply:Google it.
There is only one place to find this article. Not a newspaper, not a TV website archieve, not any type of historical website, not any type of archeological website.
Only Infidels.org. And the author is "unknown."
Nice try Sinthia, but dubious would be an understatement..
Christ's body will never be found. He is risen and sitting at the right of God.
Reply:They could have found a body sure. No, it's not Jesus. Of course the rabbi would say that. The young guy couldn't say that with certainty either.
Reply:Anything is possible. Should they cancel Easter over it?...absolutely not. What other day can you send your children to the back yard for a while to hunt for Easter eggs? Don't forget about those Cadberry (Yeah, it's late so I probably spelled that wrong) Easter eggs. Mmm...yummy...
Reply:At this period of time, crucification, was a normal mean of torture, made on lots of people.
And in my Religion, Jesus (PBUH), was niether crucified, nor dead, GOD took him up to heavens.
